As the school year comes to a close, some freshmen are looking back on their favorite moments. For the class of 2025 this was their first normal year since 2019.

Hunter Skoglund ’25 had a great year by achieving his goals and meeting new people.

“I’m ending both semesters with a 4.0 GPA and made varsity for both of my sports teams.” says Skoglund

For Lucas Lima ’25 his favorite part of the year took place in the Mineral King Bowl watching football and cowhide. Coming into Redwood Lima thought the high school would be more difficult and tense than middle school.

“Overall I did enjoy the school year. There was always an event happening which I really liked.”

For many freshman high school was not what they expected. But for Skoglund he was expecting everything that happened from socially to academically.

“Its what I expected as far as the social point of view, but other than that the work is pretty easy”

Skoglund explains how the work thrown at him isn’t much of a hassle, same with keeping his grades up. “I hope it stays that way.” This school year for Hunter came across as a “chill vibe”. He also met a ton of new people through cross country and his classes.

Libby Thompson ’25 says she liked the transition from zoom to high school saying it was great. She also says that the football games are a highlight of her year.

Coming to Redwood she had high hopes but didn’t know what to expect. “I don’t really know what I expected, but I like it so far.”

Cody Abney ’25 says how the atmosphere and the students made his year great.

“The football games, activities, and the clubs helped make my year great.”

Abney also says “When there is a fun activity going on everyone is having a good time and that it is fun in general.”

Chloe Seals ’25 says her goal for the year is to just enjoy it and make the most of it.

“I can confidently say this year has been extremely enjoyable.”
