On Friday, September 7, before their tournament, the varsity volleyball team had put up some big wins- 9 of them, to be exact. Out of 11 matches, the Volleyball team has won 9 matches and are planning to do some big things this season. Their next game will be on Tuesday, the 11, against Lemoore. Your Lady Rangers have some big expectations on their shoulders.
Since the Volleyball team has been doing so great, there had to be a reason for it. Madison Tamayo, ’20, says, “We work together really well, and we have a really good bond, which helps us move fast on the court.” Mia Gilcrest, ’21, believes the reason is that, “We all get along, and we all work together as a team, and we’re all like, super-close with each other, and we’re practically like, kinda a huge family.” Halle Patterson, ’19, believes it is because, “We’ve really connected this year in a way that past teams haven’t.” The bottom line is that the volleyball team this year has connected so much, to the point where their team chemistry has really been a positive impact this season.
The team has had some tough matches this season, Tamayo believes that Kingsburg was pretty tough this season. Gilcrest has a feeling that Monache was the toughest team this season. Finally, Patterson believes that Tehachapi has been the toughest team so far, due to losing players to the SAT’s, but despite all that hardship, your Lady Rangers still pulled away with a win.
Lastly, all three of the girls agree that they will take several tournaments this season. Patterson responded with this: “I think we have the ability to really pull through, and take the win.” The team has a tournament going on as of Friday, September 7. Hopefully, the team will be able to win the tournament. And, if they lose, the team will learn something new from the experience.
