BSU is a club that has been around Redwood for at least seven years now, leading a group of individuals to equality and acceptance. They have dedicated themselves to making sure that all black students are empowered when they walk onto Redwood’s campus, and that all the students are a part of this empowerment.

Nick Trevino, ’20, who was the man leading the show at Club Day, stated that BSU is important in the sense of making sure that that they, “…expose the black community and culture, along with racial tensions in the community.”

He also says that the culture clubs are a very important part of Redwood culture. “America is made of multiple races…we should expose that” he expressed.

All students are welcome in BSU, black or not, and some freshman feel that it was a really good thing. “It gets kids to do things out of school, it keeps them busy” one student said in response to the BSU booth. Nick reminds us all that, there in BSU, “We feel that to have equality, we must promote equality.”
