April 1st, 2022.

The community was shocked when Principal Cat Chin announced that the classic bridge connecting the two campuses would be demolished.

Sharon McLovin, PTA [Parents and Teachers Association] President, says “Not only was the decision horrible, but it was also extremely stupid. The PTA [Parents and Teachers Association] wants a refund!”

Chin says, “We need to isolate the freshmen from the upperclassmen. The freshmen need to earn their way back on the main campus.”

Students did not react well. Just this morning, they traveled to the administration building waiter balloons in hand.

Steve Kale, class of 2025, led the charge. He made numerous TikToks, Instagram posts, and announced his plan on Twitter.

The tweet reads, “I don’t [want to] stay on [Sierra] Vista all day! They don’t have the snack bar either. A crime against us freshmen.”

It has 483 retweets with the hashtag “#FreshmenTakeover22”.

The upperclassmen have mixed feelings. Mckenzleigh Jones, class of 2023, says, “What do they even want [us] to do? Play Crossy Road? We won’t stand for it!”

Opposing Jones’s opinion, Maya Bereket, class of 2022, is relieved the freshmen are on a separate campus.

She says, “I’m actually glad that they [administrators] are doing this. The freshmen need to be away from us upperclassmen, they are so distracting. Like, I just [want to] take my math exam in peace.”

Today is April 1st.
