The Redwood High School boys soccer team played Tulare Union High School on Tuesday, December 1st. They came home with a win and a score of 1-0.

Playing soccer comes with lots of practice, skill, and motivation. Edgar Moreno ‘22 says, “I felt that I played a decent game. As a team we played with heart and came out strong. The team celebration was definitely the best [and] the energy just feels great.”

In a game, connecting with other players can improve communication and how the team plays overall. Players can be able to understand each other’s skill and play better. Will Kennedy ‘23 says, “I feel like our team played better and played more as a team.”

With defense and challenges to overcome, Ernesto Pacheco ‘22 says, “I feel my team played pretty good, [and] we created lots of chances.”

Ben Garcia ’23 says, “The highlight of the game was being able to dispossess the ball a lot and find an assist to Ernesto.” Kennedy adds, “The highlight of the game for me was when Ernesto scored and it created momentum for our team.”

A team can improve in many ways and get better in different aspects of their play and game. The players all feel they can improve, and hope to get better for the future games.

Garcia says, “I feel like we played well, but we still have stuff to work on. The best part of the game is when we celebrated as a team after the goal.” As it is one of their first games, they still have improvement and time to get closer together.

Kennedy adds, “We hope to improve by starting off the game better and finishing goals early.”

“The team celebration was definitely the best, the energy just feels great,” says Moreno.
