Redwood Varsity Boys’ Water Polo is preparing physically and mentally to play in this upcoming tournament.

Captain Lincoln Cooper ’27, believes that coach Felsted’s training has been preparing them for this upcoming tournament, “Doing a lot of swimming and training, building my legs to get stronger, and building a lot of team chemistry,” said Cooper.

Cooper expresses that previous games have helped him in many ways by preparing him mentally and physically; mental toughness is definitely a way to carry yourself to a victory.

Sutton Feierbach ’29, is one of the youngest players on the roster; he says that Coach Felsted always emphasizes before the games not to be cocky, as they haven’t beaten anyone yet.

Feierbach explains he is feeling good going into this tournament and taking on other good schools ,”I’m feeling good. We got right first game, another D1 team, hopefully we come out on top”, said Feierbach.

Captain Owen Zuniga ’27, is confident in his team going into this tournament.

Zuniga believes that they don’t have anything to lose; they are going in looking to prove themselves.

As a captain, Zuniga always makes sure his team is well motivated, “Making sure they do warm-ups correctly and making sure they’re ready before games diet-wise,” said Zuniga.

Boys Varsity Water Polo Coach Jack Felsted’s primary focus for this tournament is to see overall where the team stands and for players to bond better together.

Felsted believes that players to look out for at this tournament are Lincoln Cooper, Sutton Fiebesch, Blake Peterson, and Owen Zuniga.

Coach Felsted is looking forward to playing Righetti as they came up short against them last year , ” Righetti beat us last year, so we’re looking to get some revenge there.”
