Either from the man himself, or from word of mouth, you may have heard of Magical Max, or Max Maryanow, ‘28, a magician at Redwood High School.

Maryanow has attended a camp in Pennsylvania, the Tannen’s Magic Camp. At this camp, professional magicians perform and teach the kids at camp new tricks. Maryanow attended this camp with the intention of improving his skills and meeting new people. Impressively, Maryanow has only started his career a year ago.

Maryanow has a website where people can hire him to perform magic at parties and other events. $150 an hour for his magic tricks, but that also depends on what the event is and how long it is. He has also performed at a popular steakhouse for tips.

Maryanow says, “It’s hard to estimate how much I’m making because I also work at Texas Roadhouse for tips. I haven’t recently because I’m focusing on school.”

He has bounced around from many different hobbies before landing on magic. All the hobbies involved using his hands, like knitting. He still practices these hobbies but he’s mostly focused on magic.

“I still enjoy them [his hobbies], but magic feels right for me,” Maryanow says.

Recently, a big opportunity has reached Maryanow. An agent from America’s Got Talent reached out to him and asked him to be a part of the show. This has been a goal of Magical Max’s for a few months now.

Maryanow says, “Right now I am currently filming my audition tape, I’m very excited for it.”
