As Redwood Drama prepares for the upcoming Fall play, Stagecraft is busy with the more technical aspects of the theater. They’re helping to design the setting, painting, and adjusting flats for the upcoming Fall play, “Being on Stagecraft is fun but difficult, you need to have a lot of discipline.” says Jenna Agredano ’22.
What is Stagecraft?
Often times many people don’t realize there are many theater roles. Stagecraft is just one role that is not well-known by the public. It’s actually a big part of the play. It makes the play background come to life. Stagecraft includes constructing scenery, hanging and focusing props, designing costumes, make-up, and procurement of props.
Skills
When joining Stagecraft you inquire a lot of new and valuable skills, but before you decide to join, “you must have some basic skills” says Jenna Agredano ’22. These skills include good listening, being mature, hard work, artistic ability, and discipline. If you are interested in joining Stagecraft, contact Mrs. Galvan and be “sure to get your permission slipped signed” says Hunter Gardner ’22.
Stagecraft is something not many of the audience members realize is a big part of putting the play together. There are people behind the curtain helping making it happen. They have lots of skills and work very hard.
