The Class of 2024 will attend Disneyland for their Senior Grad Nite from Wednesday, May 15, to Thursday, May 16, 2024. Tickets will be sold on Monday, February 5, 2024. Packets are now available in the front office.

On Monday, February 5, 2024, seniors will be able to purchase Disneyland Grad Nite tickets at 8:00 a.m. at the Finance Center.

There will only be 300 tickets available. Students must have permission slips and clearance forms.

The trip will last from Wednesday, May 15, to Thursday, May 16, 2024. Students will meet in the student parking lot at 6:00 a.m. and depart at 6:30 a.m.

Alexa Barba-Tepper, Assistant Principal of Student Services, says, “We get an email from Disneyland in June, and they say we need to pick our top 3 dates. Normally the past years, we try to do a Friday, so that seniors don’t have to miss two days of school.”

“I’m excited, but it’s always stressful because of the ticket sale day. There’s 500 something of you, and only 300 tickets, and I’ve never had to do a lottery,” says Barba-Tepper.

The price of a ticket for Grad Nite is $330. Deciding to attend Disneyland on a Friday would have increased prices.

“The charter buses and Disney prices went up, so if we had actually gone on a Friday, it might have been $350,” says Barba-Tepper.

Students who are close to 94% attendance can still purchase a ticket. However, they must have a 94% attendance by May to attend Grad Nite. Tickets will be refunded to the student if their attendance does not meet the requirement.

Cash, cards, and checks will be accepted. However, there will be a 3% fee for using a card.

Mason Thomas, ’24, says, “I will not be attending Grad Nite because not many of my friends are going, it’s overly expensive, and it’ll be super busy.”

“The prices are ridiculously high… and it would be much cheaper to go on my own time,” says Thomas.

Beatrice Sanjaya, ’24, says, “I think it’ll be very fun [at Grad Nite and] I feel like Disneyland is something that heals everybody’s inner child. Since this is the first step of becoming an adult, it’s surreal.”

“I don’t think the tickets are that bad… it’s a little expensive, but every high school is going to do this, so it’s different than going to Disneyland on a regular day and we get the park to ourselves,” says Sanjaya.

Students must be aware of the date of their AP Exams, as the trip dates conflict with some AP Exam times.

AP Exams Affected:

Wednesday, May 15, 2024: Computer Science Principles, French Language and Culture, Music Theory, World History: Modern

Thursday, May 16, 2024: Biology, Japanese Language and Culture, Spanish Language and Culture

Students must talk to Mr. Cole about exam make-ups as soon as possible.

Grad Nite packets are now available in the office.
