Students all around Redwood High School are looking forward to new changes, such as striving for better grades, actively working on improving their mental health, establishing healthier routines to balance schoolwork, and managing their time more effectively.

After returning from winter break, many students feel the weight of the previous semester’s stress, which pushes them to want to make meaningful changes, and so this new semester, it offers students a chance to reset, both mentally and academically.

This motivates the students at Redwood High School to improve certain areas of their lives that could have caused them to procrastinate. Starting this semester, strong students will feel encouraged to maintain good grades and take their mental health seriously.

How can students make these changes and what motivates them?

Alessandro Barrios, ‘28, was asked how he would make a change and keep moving forward to it, and said, “By reminding myself of my goals and what I want to achieve later in the future it has encouraged me to keep going.”

To implement this change for the new semester, how can students sustain it?

Autumn Xiong, ‘29, was asked if there are strategies she can use to maintain her changes, said, “Making a schedule, to set up things on a list that I can read daily as a to-do list.”

These goals and changes, students can maintain, but what’s holding them back?

Danica Hastings, ‘29, was asked if anything was holding her back from last semester, said, “Procrastination was holding me back. I don’t want to do that anymore, ‘cause I want to be able to complete more assignments and goals.

Students have many strategies to make these changes and reach their goals. But many students have a background on why they want to meet these changes, even though they are now refreshed from winter break their were many things holding students back from these changes and goals.

Now, learning from last semester’s students now feel encouraged and motivated to make these changes and goals happen this new semester, following this year and the future.
