Follow up with the Best Overall Halloween Contest winner for the Art Club
This year the Art Club had a Halloween Costume Contest, along with a small party to celebrate the season. The Best Overall winner, Eric Barrios, ‘23, comments on their win in the Costume Contest.
Barrios’ was inspired by the movie Edward Scissorhands. He says, “it’s one of [his] favorite movies of all time.” He says, “I remember the first time I watched It I cried at the end because I found the story so sad and moving, but it was listed as a comedy.”
Barrios also says that Edward Scissorhands “seemed edgy and scary but he was so kind.”
The contest involved six contestants and there were three possible awards : funniest costume, most creative costume, and best overall costume.
After being awarded best overall, Barrios says he “was super happy,” and he also says, “I’ve never won a costume contest before so it was super surprising. I didn’t know what to say at the time but I was super grateful.”
Once the contest was over, club members ate pizza and cookies, and enjoyed getting to know each other with a couple rounds of Two Truths, One Lie. Club members also got a little crazy with a couple rounds of musical chairs, accompanied by spooky music.
