Andee May ’26 says the decision came as a surprise even to May herself. According to the senior, Fresno State head coach had already finalized her roster before seeing May play in person. That quickly changed.
“I was shocked. The head coach had closed her roster before meeting me, and when she saw me play, she opened up the roster again,” said May.

When asked about her expectations entering her freshman year at Fresno State, May emphasized a mindset rooted in discipline and accountability.
She said, “I see myself working hard to earn a spot. Nothing is given.”
Beyond physical preparation, May places a strong emphasis on her mental approach to the game. After tough competitions, she resets by watching high-level volleyball for inspiration and listening to music to refocus.
May’s performance this season has been difficult to ignore.
She currently ranks fourth in the Central Section for blocks with 112, establishing herself as a dominant presence at the net.
Offensively, she has recorded 144 kills while maintaining an impressive .325 hitting percentage. In addition, May has contributed 42 assists, showcasing her versatility and all-around impact on the court.
May joins a Fresno State volleyball program coming off a Mountain West Championship in 2023 and a strong run in the 2024 Mountain West Tournament. With a proven winning culture and May’s competitive drive, the future appears promising for both the Bulldogs and their newest commit.
