A look back at the highs and lows of Redwood’s winter sports teams in their respective conference.

The Ranger’s men basketball team had an extremely bipolar season, with a mediocre 15-14 overall record, and being in third place with a 6-4 record in league, this season was a roller coaster of a season to say the least.

The boy’s most dominant win came against Sunnyside in a dominant 67-32 win. Their worst loss, on the other hand, came against Clovis North, when they lost 81-28.

Girl’s basketball, on the other hand, was more consistent, with a 20-10 overall record, and being second place in EYL with an 8-2 record against league opponents. With those two losses being against Monache.

The Lady Ranger’s most dominant win during the season came in a dominant 70-25 win against Clovis East. Their worst loss, however, came in the playoffs in a 67-31 loss against an elite Clovis team.

Boys soccer had a solid season, bouncing back from a 0-3-1 record to start the season, with a 14-7-4 overall record, and being 7-1-2 against league opponents. The Rangers did pretty well. Their only loss against a league opponent came in a close 1-0 game against Golden West.

Their most dominant win of the season was against Shafter with a 5-0 victory. Their worst loss came not during the regular season, but in the Central Section playoffs, in which they lost to Mira Monte in a shutout 4-0 loss.

Ranger women’s soccer was fantastic as always,  with a 22-2-1 overall record and a 10-0 league sweep. Their only regular-season loss came against Hanford in a close 2-1 game. Their second loss came in the semi-finals of the Central Section Championships, in which they lost in overtime 2-2.

Boys Varsity Wrestling won their fourth straight EYL title in a row, with a staggering 300 points separating them from the rest.

With first place winners being Johnny Benitez ‘27, in the 134 weight class, Coleman Smith ‘26, in the 140 weight class, Aiden Khorramdel ‘29, in the 147 weight class, Brody Preisendorf ‘26, in the 167 weight class, Emmanuel Galicia ‘27, in the 192 weight class, Drew Gonzale ‘26, in the 217 weight class, and Enrique Segura ‘26, in the 287 weight class.

Lady Wrestling took third with the only first-place finish being Emily Carvalho ‘27, in the 192 weight class.
