On November 1st, 2nd at 7:00 pm and 3rd at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm, “It’s a Wonderful Life” played in the Rotary Theatre.  The performance was set in the 1920’s and 30’s. It was a radio play, so all of the characters stood on stage with scripts in hand, talking through microphones.

Gilbert Rivas ‘19, was the lead of the radio play.  His character was George Bailey and both his evaluation and Mrs. Galvan’s evaluation were really good.  Rivas said that he would rate himself at an 8 on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being really bad and 10 being the best) because he says, “I knew what to say, but I stuttered and tripped over my words now and again.”  However, Galvan explained differently that he lived up to his potential and exceeded. She commented that, “I think this is the best I’ve ever seen him perform.”

Rivas wasn’t the only person who did an amazing job at the shows. Rivas feels that, “Everybody did really good and I think since, everybody did so well, we were able to synchronize well together.” Mrs. Galvan feels the same as Rivas and many other people that they lived up to their potential.  Galvan said, “They worked really hard and they did the best they could.”

People may ask, what makes it such a big success?  Casting is the most important part of a play. Galvan commented that, “If you don’t have the right cast, the show will not work.”  The success of “It’s a Wonderful Life” was very big, but they still worked all together like family.

If you want to see Drama’s talent, come to the upcoming musical, “Once Upon a Mattress”  on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of February, 2019 in the LJ Williams Theater. Tickets will be $10 per student and $12 per adult.
