If you’re in need of an outfit for Cowhide, make a tutu with this tutorial.

Materials you will need:

  • Elastic band
  • 3 colors of tulle
  • Scissors 
  • Measuring tape

Step 1: Measure

Measure the elastic around your waist to make sure it fits. Cut the elastic to the correct length with about 2 inches of extra fabric to be able to tie it.

Step 2: Cut the fabric

Take your tulle fabric and cut it into strips that are about 4 inches wide. Depending on the length of the strip will show how long the tutu will be, in this instance we made the stripes long enough to hit about mid thigh. To make the tutu fluffier, cut longer stripes to fold and bunch together. Make sure you cut enough strips to cover the entire waistband. 

Step 3: Attach the fabric to the elastic

When done cutting all of the strips, start attaching the strips to the elastic. Fold one strip of fabric in half, place the folded end over the waistband, and pull the loose ends through the loop. Then tighten the strip so it stays in place.  Keep repeating the steps until your tutu looks full, adding more strips will make your tutu look more fluffy.

Step 4: Make it your own design

As you attach the strips, you can change different colors of tulle to make your tutu look colorful, you can use two or three colors to make your tutu stand out. Space the strips evenly around the elastic so the tutu looks balanced and full.

Step 5: Trim and decorate the tutu

When attaching all the strips, make sure they are spread out evenly around the elastic. Then, start to trim the tutu so it will be the length of a knock-off amazon tutu. After you trim the fabric you can add decorations like glitter and make it very sparkly.

Step 6: Try it on!

After all of your hardwork, try on the tutu and look at the pretty princess you are meant to be with all of that glitter and go rock the Cowhide game!
