On Friday, August 21st, Link Crew hosted the freshman tailgate, inviting all incoming freshmen for games, food, and fun.
The tailgate allows everyone to experience what being a first-time Ranger feels like.
Charlotte Nelson, ‘30, said, “My favorite part of the tailgate was watching the challenges, like the donut eating contest.”
Our first Blue Out had our student section and stands crowded with people who were ready to show their love for Redwood.

Leaya Reyes, ’30, shared, “ It was really fun; I liked the environment and everyone’s energy”
The freshman tailgate has been a tradition for 15 years, bringing the excitement and hype for the upcoming year.
It’s an opportunity for all new students to come together and have a great start to the new year, meet new people, and get into the first game for free.
Mrs Braun, our Link Crew teacher, said, “My favorite part of hosting the tailgate was the amount of kids that showed up, but also the contests. I had one student eat pie off the floor, and that’s commitment.”
