Students share what they would do without having TikTok for a week.

TikTok is a media platform used worldwide that has flourished in its nine years of activity. Gaining its recognition throughout the spring of 2019, lots of people went viral with new trends and enjoyable content that is consumed daily.

So what would happen if it disappeared for a week?
Previously, TikTok has been and is being threatened with get ban, yet each time it is successfully restored.
The one time that TikTok went offline, active users panicked because the app was not working properly. That was with it being gone for only 14 hours.

Without TikTok for a week, many have found themselves doing other things instead of mindlessly scrolling.
Anthony Lindberg, ’28, says he would, “probably be sleeping instead of being on TikTok.”

On the other hand, Leelas Al Kudsi, ’28, says she would, “start banging my feet on the floor. I’ll start foaming at the mouth, probably shave all my hair off.”
Cami Vilacreses, ’28, says, “I could just go to practice and work out.”

With an average person having about an hour on TikTok, which is 6% of a person’s day, it has been said that it reduces one’s attention span and makes a person lazy.
Ryn Morton, ’28, says that, “if people can’t go a week without social media, maybe they shouldn’t have it at all because that shows a very big lack of control and discipline.”
Jared Guzman, ’27, says, “he wouldn’t survive because all I do after school is watch TikTok when I’m bored.”
