With the announcement that Sophia Diaz, ’26, would become the 2025-2026 ASB President and other candidates would be elected for their positions, Rangers were asked why they voted for their chosen candidates.

Students were able to vote via a link from voting4schools.com.

The link to the voting link was posted on Schoology by ASB Advisor Ms. Aston on Friday, April 4. Rangers were able to vote from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Results were posted that same day, around 4:30 PM, on Redwood’s ASB account, @rhsrangers.

In regards of the win of Diaz, Makayla Flemming, ‘26 says, “She has great opportunities that are coming, especially her role as president, and with knowing her personally. She’s a very kind person.”

Voters were swayed to vote for people that they found would be beneficial to Redwood High, even if they knew them from a glimpse of passing by.

When asked about who he remembers voting for, Jairo Navarro, ‘28 says, “It was mostly just because they’re a freshman.” Navarro voted for Roberto Correa, ‘28 as treasurer for ASB.

Vanessa Robles, ‘26, says that she voted for Diaz because “I just feel like she deserved it, and she seems like a good person to show leadership at her school.”
