These days, it seems like there’s almost nothing to do. It’s either, stare at the ceiling after completing some unavoidable chores and online homework, or check your social medias.

Being at home limits a lot of people from enjoying activities that can only take place outside. Maybe you’re just not that into something. Maybe you’re just BORED!

Netflix and Amazon Prime video are right at your door.

One of the shows I personally recommend is “Parks and Recreation“. It’s a TV comedy show. It has 125 episodes and 7 seasons, currently only streaming on Netflix. With a rate of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, giggles will be contagious.

It features Leslie Knope, a short-haired blonde woman born in the 70’s. Her aspiration is to convert an abandoned construction site into a beautiful park, all the while trying to improve her career and deal with her romantic life. She faces many challenges, such as bureaucracy, in which the government makes the project a more difficult task.

For Nina Doll, who is a digital marketer for Grease Pro and Toyota, Parks and Recreation is “about the city department’s park and recreation centers, with daily tasks. The main character, Leslie, works as a Deputy of the Parks and Recreation centers, with her boss Ron Swanson, and co workers April Ludgate, Andy Dwyer, and Ben Wyatt, they make your parks safe and your days great with 7 seasons to enjoy. If you love comedy and funny characters this show is for you.” Which is why this show goes as one of the entertaining shows you should consider to watch as you stay at home.

The second show, known as “Aggretsuko”, focuses on the life of Retsuko. A red panda who works as an accountant at Carrier Man Trading Company. Whenever she feels rage, her eyes would turn a luminous blue, her face gets some kind of grotesque corpse paint, her teeth becomes sharp, with a kanji character meaning rage on her forehead.

Death Metal helps her cope with her rage, and her friends help her get through rough days at work. She also has a secret admirer!

“The only way I’ve come to like this show is because of the realistic stories crafted in a light-hearted way, without dismissing the humorous raging scenes.”

Elizabeth Turner, 18 year old Chilean citizen

This show would give you not only laughter but also emotional moments, as our main character Retsuko wanders through the ways of love, her primary goal is to get married and have a family, the question here is, would she obtain it?

The third show is a love and comedy anime series entitled “High Score Girl” This show features the main character Yaguchi Haruo, an average looking boy from the 90’s whose only passion is to play video games. He meets a girl named Akira Ono at a video game arcade and starts to get competitive, as he tries really hard to beat Akira, but always finds himself defeated in front of her long winning streak.

Later he realizes his feelings are pointing towards something more than the games he plays, would that be Akira Ono, his childhood game buddy, or Koharu Hidaka, his high school classmate and daughter of an arcade owner?

Noah McAdam, a huge fan of the show from Florida thinks the appropriate rate for this anime would be a “8.5/10, I love the way they incorporated old arcade games into a romance anime. I think most romantic shows do need like a theme to go along with the relationship, and I feel High Score Girl does this well. The animation was different, I don’t know if I liked it too much but it works. I think one thing I didn’t like that much is that Ono doesn’t talk.”

Akira Ono didn’t talk throughout the entire anime, the only way she could show her emotions was through facial expressions, even when she was around Haruo. But to Noah McAdam “It made their interactions a little hard to be intimate. But they’re so cute together. Overall though, I loved the anime. It’s great. There were just a few things I didn’t like.”

This show displays games from SNK, a Japanese company, Nintendo, Capcom, and some other game industries. Games such as Street fighter, Splatterhouse, Cadash, Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Final Fight. These were popular games from the 90’s that helped with the setting of the love and comedy anime series.

The fourth show is called “The Office”, with over 9 seasons and 201 episodes. It first aired on 2005. It’s an old show you might’ve probably watched before, but in case you have not, here’s why you should watch it.

The Office shows how a boring job like working in an office can be also fun. The main character and boss is Michael Scott. He tries to lighten up the mood next to his subordinates Dwight Schrute, and Jim Halpert. Some scenes display humorous and strange moments in the lives of the manager and employees, as they attempt to make the paper company thrive.

It captures jokes such as the popular joke “That’s what she said” by Michael Scott, and “Bears, beet. Battlestar Galactica” by Jim Halpert. This show guarantees laughter and unforgettable moments in the lives of these workers. You can watch this show on Netflix, YouTube purchase, Amazon Prime Video, in other places, or in watchtheofficeonline for free.

Last but not least, we have Planet Earth II, it can be watched on Amazon Prime Video, YouTube either free or with purchase, or on google play. The series aired in 2016, in 4k ultra HD. It centers itself on the idea of the views in the world, especially of natural characteristics. It is accompanied with a narrator, Sir David Attenborough and shows different motion images of the world, from islands to mountains or deserts to jungles.

As a nature documentary, anyone can agree on one thing, it is not like most tv shows. However learning more about the wilderness and how it works can be quite entertaining. You can get useful information and perhaps an inspiration to study natural history. This can be fun but also rigorous which is why I chose this as one of the 5 entertaining shows to watch during our stay at home.

Now that you have a list of shows to watch, binge on popcorn, turn off the lights and enjoy all 5 of these incredible shows while you are at home.
