Varsity Volleyball Sweeps Monache

With nets up, bleachers out, and game faces on, the Varsity Girls Volleyball team faced Monache in the Redwood Gym on Thursday, September 7th @ 7 pm. The Redwood High school Varsity girls defeated Monache in all three sets.

Redwood won the first game with a score of 25-8, the second with 25-15, and the third with 25-10.

Maddy Tamayo, ‘20, said, “In the second set we didn’t communicate as well, but we worked together so we could get the win.”

Claire Collins, ’19, said, “We played the best that we’ve played all season, and we communicated a lot more than we have in the past. Coming back from our loss against Mission Oak, we really wanted to win every game from here on out. If we are able to communicate as well as we did today, I think we’ll be able to go really far.”

They have high aspirations for this season due to their performance versus Monache.

Kassidy Loverin, ’18, said, “I think we did really well. We just need to practice, and work harder with each other for future games.”

Varsity girls volleyball were able to sweep Monache in their games, and hope to continue performing the way they did. Make sure to support our Ranger girls in their future games this season!
