Is The World Ending?

Temperatures all over the world have been breaking records for the heat. This year particularly, we had abnormal weather patterns with rain during the summer and hot days in the winter. Some could say that this is the beginning of the end of the world.

Many people at Redwood High School have been claiming that the unusual weather patterns are because of the destroyed ozone layer from the resulting effects of refrigerants or plastic products. Therefore, some people speculates that natural disasters will be the cause of the end of the world.

Ali Mashael ‘20 said, “The end of the world will start with a deadly tsunami in the west coast of California on July 21st, 2090, and fires will be widespread in the valley. Visalia will be the last safe place on Earth.”

Makenzie Collins ‘19, said, “The sky looks weird and there is a lot of natural disasters going on. It’s going to end horribly. We can’t do anything to prevent the world from ending.”

However, others think scientifically, and believe that the world will end in other ways. Daniel Sabogal ‘20 said, “It will end on October 5, due to the cause of the growth of the sun or evolution of disease.”

Mackenzie Potts ‘19 said, “I don’t know what global warming is, but I’m sure that will not be the cause of the end of the world. I think the world will end someday but we will already be on another planet.”

Out of these theories, are there any ways to prevent it? Sabogal said, “We can prevent this by recycling and trying not to pollute,” whereas Mashael said, “We have to accept climate change, but [the] future is inevitable.”

Hopefully, the end isn’t near from today, but we should still be careful of our actions.
