On August 22nd, Redwood’s water polo teams faced off against Porterville to kick off the 1st home game of the 2017 year.
JV girls water polo team started the day off with a win, with a final score was 15-7.
Gianna Pratti, ’19, a 3 year water polo player says, “I enjoy the sport and the adrenaline it gives you. I enjoy the friendships I make over the season”. Pratti then stated after the game, “The team could have done better getting open for the ball and needs to work on communication”.
Varsity girls put in 10-8 in their game. The team played hard and took good shots.
Alex Salazar, ’20, says, “I think we are going to have a great season if we keep working hard.”
Varsity boys played an amazing job ending the game with a score of 11-7 winning.
Marcus Agurrie, ’19, says “The team played good, we just need to work on communicating more and taking better shots. The season is going to go good overall.”
The JV boys ended the night with a win of 14-2.
Zane Wilson, ’20, says, “We are confident in our roster and the strong players we have.” The JV team currently consists of about 30 players.
