The second annual VHSPAS are around the corner and the nominations are in. The VHSPAS are where students that have participated and given outstanding performances in the musicals throughout the year get recognized for their outstanding work. It can be thought of as Visalia’s own Tony’s. Quite a few Redwood drama students have been nominated for their performances in either the fall play or musical. A few of the nominees were asked about how it felt to be recognized for their efforts this year.
Michael McFadden, ’17, was nominated for Best Male Performer in a fall play and a musical and said, “[I am] extremely grateful for both of the categories and can’t wait to go to the VHSPAS.”
Owen Webb, ’17, was nominated for Best Male Performer in a musical. He said, “It’s such an honor and I can’t wait for the show.”
Hayley Nelson, ’17, was nominated for Outstanding Female Performer in a musical. Nelson said, “It feels like a dream come true to be nominated… I’m so excited to attend Visalia’s version of the Tony’s.”
Mikayla Hays, ’17, was nominated for Outstanding Female Performer in a fall play and a musical. She said, “It’s so incredibly exciting to be nominated. The fact that I was remembered is the most exciting part. I can’t wait to see the results.”
The VHSPAS will be held on May 1, 2017 at 7pm in the LJ Williams Theater! Be sure to come and support the drama program! Dress to impress!
