From April 6th to the 8th Redwood FBLA attended state competition and seven students will go on to compete at Nationals this summer in Anaheim.
Anthony Casillas ‘18, Jonathan Zamora ‘18, Ely Garcia ‘18, Rebecca Lechtman ‘18, Derrick Chau ‘19, Kate Sapasap ‘18, and Tania Jiroudi ‘19 will be attending nationals.
Anthony Casillas, ‘18, placed first in Impromptu Speaking. Casillas classified this event as a speech with limited time to process what will he said, and the prompt is unknown to the speaker.
When asked about his preparation for Nationals, Casillas said, “I am currently reviewing what I’ve done in the past and adding on to it.”
Jonathan Zamora, ‘18, will be competing nationally under the event Computer Applications and Local Chapter Annual Business report. “I feel excited, we are bringing seven competitors to Anaheim, which is the most we have brought in my three years of being an active member,” Zamora said.
Ely Garcia, ‘18, will be competing in Database Design and Applications. He is looking forward to this opportunity to expand and learn in his FBLA career.
Garcia said, “ I am hopeful that it gives me more growth as a leader and helps me get my name out there amongst others who share a common interest.”
