As a tradition of Redwood High School, they’re hosting Powder puff! Basically it’s football for girls and is really fun to watch. Everyone gets excited for this to come around especially the girls.
Last year was the first year to allow underclassmen to participate in this event. A lot of the upperclassmen got upset but ended up forgetting about it. The freshman and sophomores play each other and then the juniors and seniors.
There is meeting at lunch Monday to give tickets and pay for the t-shirt. Tuesday, there’s a practice for frosh and sophs on the turf. Wednesday is the Jr. and Sr. practice at the same place. Then finally on Thursday is the big game! At 6:30 for Frosh and Soph, and around 7:15 is the Jr. and Sr. game.
Bryanna Martinez ’17, said, “First we start by establishing a vision and that’s just kind of making sure we have all the components for a good powderpuff, then we kind of elect a committee chair and a co chair and then we just have them focus on everything and then we talk to the class officers and make sure they are including the class”
Martinez said “The theme is fast food, it;s kind of funny, we have the Baja Freshman, Sonic Sophomores, Carl’s Juniors and In n Out Seniors”.
