During this year Mr. Ranger’s week, Redwood ASB decided to hold its first ever Mr. Ranger Luncheon. The event took place during lunch in the quad, and everyone who was nominated for Mr. Ranger got to attend a luncheon catered by Amigos.
Tania Jiroudi, ’19, was one of the committee chairs for the Mr. Ranger Luncheon. Jiroudi said, “It was important to have this luncheon because it created a really nice atmosphere on the campus and all the nominees were having a wonderful time!” Jiroudi said one of the struggles she faced was the lack of time because Kid’s Day was happening around the same time. Jiroudi said that all of the committees worked together to ensure that the job got done, even though time really wasn’t on their side.
Bryanna Martinez, ’17, said, “The luncheon was an essential element to Mr. Ranger week because it allowed us to put the spotlight on all of the boys who have demonstrated to be a well rounded Redwood Ranger.¨ She thought that it was a great opportunity to recognize all of the nominees who have gone above and beyond. Martinez hopes that this luncheon continues to be a tradition because it provides a great opportunity to recognize students.
Kenneth O’Leary, ’18, is the committee chair for the entire Mr. Ranger week. O’Leary said that it was important to show the appreciation for our senior boys that go above and beyond. He said that the biggest struggle was trying to not eat the food during the luncheon. O’Leary said “I waited until everyone got food and we cleaned up the event, then ASB got to have leftovers because leaders eat last!”
