Keepin’ The Redwood Rangers Healthy

Not only does January kick off the start of a new semester for students and staff members, it also starts off a different career for our new Nurse Tiffani Holden-Walkowiak.

Holden-Walkowiak graduated high school from Golden West High School. Her favorite thing about high school was studying AP Biology and other science classes, which inspired her to pursue further into the medical field. Afterwards, she received her bachelors from Cal State Long Beach. She then came back to the Valley and attended San Joaquin Valley College where she received her nursing degree.

Holden-Walkowiak said, “Being a nurse was something I had always wanted. I’ve always wanted to work in the medical field, it’s just kind of the direction I knew I wanted to head into.”

Her previous job was at the Kaweah Delta Health Care Hospital here in Visalia. Although she did thoroughly enjoy working in the hospital environment, the hours can be a bit overwhelming there.

Holden-Walkowiak said, “I worked in the Hospital for a while, but the school schedule is a lot better. I like to have my vacations too!”

She knew high school had always been a joyful experience to turn back to, so the job opening as a school nurse was a blessing in disguise. Holden-Walkowiak said, “I really like working with kids and high school has been a lot of fun.”

Next time you need a bandaid or think you have a fever, don’t be afraid to visit Ms. Holden-Walkowiak in the office, thank her for her assistance, and welcome her to our awesome campus!
