On Monday January 23, Redwood students convened in the gym to help celebrate the students chosen as TRUE Rangers.
True Ranger was started by a program called PBIS (positive behavior intervention system), which helps recognize the students who are doing the right things. The students who typically get attention in school are the those who are constantly being disciplined. This is a way to recognize the students who are doing the right things.
To earn this award you are chosen by your teacher because you have shown the following characteristics; trustworthiness, respectfulness, understanding, and effort.
Elizabeth Lopez, 19’, was beyond amazed when she found out she was chosen as a TRUE Ranger. “It feels really good to be nominated for the TRUE Ranger award just because it makes me feel appreciated and it makes me feel like a good person inside because I am living up to these TRUE Ranger expectation,” she said.
Lopez was so overjoyed because she wasn’t expecting to be awarded for something she just naturally did all the time, and it just felt great to her to be acknowledged.
